THE GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER
The Triduum concludes with the Great Vigil of Easter, taking place in the Nave of the Church. The Lenten observance officially ends on Saturday evening with this liturgy beginning at 7:30pm and will last about an hour. This pinnacle liturgy of the church year is one of the most ancient and exciting services of the Christian Church - the celebration of the transition from the darkness of Holy Saturday into the light of Christ’s Resurrection Victory. The liturgy begins with the lighting of the New Fire outside the main doors of the church, includes hymns & spiritual songs, sharing of communion, and the renewal of baptismal vows!
