CLERGY SABBATICAL THIS SUMMER MAY 29TH-SEPTEMBER 4TH

Just as God gave the sabbath commandment for rest and spiritual growth, the church has a tradition of granting clergy sabbaticals: limited periods when a pastor steps away from the roles and responsibilities of parish life for physical and spiritual rest and renewal. Fr. Tom is on sabbatical this summer. His next day back in the church office will be Tuesday, September 5th, and he will return to lead worship on September 10th - St. Mary’s Day. We hope you will keep the Warren family in your prayers as they embark on this period of rest and rejuvenation. At the same time, we are excited to share our summertime ministry plans with you as we welcome some familiar faces and some new faces during our worship time together. Take a look at our summer worship schedule and guests here! As the Warren family embark on their sabbatical journey, we offer this prayer:

A Collect for a Season of Sabbatical
Holy Father, you gave us the example of Sabbath rest to sustain our bodies and minds. Guard and guide your servant, our rector Tom Warren, and all ministers currently in a season of sabbatical as they seek your Sabbath blessings. Let them know your deep, deep peace. Inspire them with the Holy Spirit so that they may be renewed. Give them joy in exploration and repose in contemplation. And especially in this season, fit us, the people of St. Mary’s, with wisdom, dedication, and energy to be your church and live out the word of your Son our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
